I am a local entrepreneur, husband and father to 3 amazing children.
I have been in the construction industry for most of my adult life and really love it. After high school, I had a variety of construction jobs framing new homes, boarding/taping, painting, cabinet installation and tile setting. I also became well versed in interpreting construction drawings and leading a team as a construction manager.
After a few years, I got the grand idea that I was going to make more money in an office environment. So, I went back to school and completed a Marketing Diploma and entered the corporate sales and marketing world where I worked for 7 years.
During that time, I purchased rental properties and completed all the renovations myself, built out legal basement suites etc. I also started to build great relationships with talented trades whom I still work with today.
After a while, the corporate scene for me became monotonous—like the movie Ground Hog Day. I missed building things and having that satisfaction of seeing my completed work at the end of the day and interacting with my clients.
So, in 2007 I started Turn Key Homes & Renovations with the goal to be the go-to contractor for Calgary and surrounding area. I have worked on additions, full home renos, small projects and everything in between. When it comes to new builds and home renovations, there isn’t a lot I haven’t seen or been exposed to.
Having said that I am big on continually improving my knowledge and learning about the home building industry as it evolves. As a member of the CHBA (Canadian Home Builders Association) and RenoMark for the past 8 years. I have been able to take advantage of the education component CHBA offers. I am currently working on my certification to become a NET ZERO Builder/Renovator.
I am also a member of the Renovation/Builder Committee at CHBA – we are a small group who meet to discuss new build practices, policy changes and code changes from the city. Our feedback is communicated to the city and province for any issues that affect our industry.

Here are a couple of unique projects I have worked on:
2 Story Penthouse Suite in The Chocolate building, downtown Calgary.
We renovated a large 4pc Ensuite and built a 5×6 steam shower with touchless water controls and music streaming capability. Interior windows were installed inside the shower enclosure to enjoy looking down onto the main floor and out through the 20’ floor to ceiling windows towards the Calgary tower.
Beside the shower was a step-up dropin tub with another interior window with the same views. The exterior of the interior windows were fitted with mirrored glass to prevent the neighboring towers from peeking in. The client also wanted to watch TV when having a shower. The TV was hidden behind the vanity mirror and could be seen through the mirror when it was turned on. Plus, double entry doors and an eight-foot-long custom floating engineered vanity with waterfall stone top. Talk about luxury!
Second Story added to bungalow, Calgary NW
This family was overflowing out of their older 1000 Sqft bungalow and needed a larger space for their family to grow. Loving their neighborhood but not having a new build budget was the challenge. The solution, keep the
existing home and build up! With the expertise of our Team which consisted of an Architectural Technologist, Interior designer, sub-trades and seasoned project managers we were able to design and build a beautiful functional home that could serve the family for years to come. A fun, unique and challenging project to say the least!
At Turn Key Homes & Renovations, we specialize in custom builds, additions, fullhome renovations and basement developments. But what we really love to do is transform people’s spaces, so they love them again. Our goal, with every project, is to make sure our clients love our work, otherwise our job is not done until they do!
